I had such a great experience here! The food was all very good. Not too oily or salty. The sushi was AMAZING! It was all very fresh and you didn’t need to dip the sushi in soy sauce cause the soy sauce was already brushed on the rice! I rly recommend trying the umaki since it’s something you wouldn’t see often in restaurants in Vancouver. I would also recommend getting the dessert! We go the white coffee pudding and it was great. Overall, I give it a five out of five since the food, service, and ambience was great! Thanks Natsu for serving us!

2025 Update: Sushi here is a masterpiece, and Chef Satoshi-San is the artist. His sushi is a piece of art every time, it almost feels sinful to devour them. Top that off with skillfully paired wasabi, special soy sauce and sometimes toppings, the dishes here leave a lasting impression. One of the best sushi I’ve had anywhere (Japan, LA, Vegas). One of my must visit restaurants during my visits to Vancouver. This place is hands down the best sushi place! I discovered the place by accident, wandering the East End looking for a sushi restaurant. Found this Gem and have never looked back. You can get some of the best imported seafood from Japan, along with fresh local wares. But my favorite is probably the Foie Gras Donbori. They pair just enough rice and sauce to make it delicious down to the last grain of rice without diluting the aroma of the Foie Gras.

This was my first time having omakase. It was a great experience. The sushi and all the other dishes tasted excellent, and the menu had a lot of variety to it. The place has a very cozy feel to it, with only a few tables. We came at the ...

We had the best meal here celebrating our anniversary. It was authentic, cozy and brought us back to Japan for a couple of hours. Chef was extremely meticulous when it came to preparing and plating each sushi and it was a joy to watch his work live. Would definitely like to return!

Probably one of my favorite omakase places I've tried thus far, and totally worth the price. I would recommend sitting at the bar counter, as if allows you to talk to the sushi chef and see their performance. I really enjoyed the rice (was a bit warmer than most places, as the master wanted), and the fish they used were most unique and very tasty. The progression of the omakase was well balanced and thoughtful. I really enjoyed their pickled ginger and pickled apples. The service was definitely on par with the food, as they were very attentive and helpful throughout the meal with selections and choices. Definitely ask the sushi chef what else they have in their stock that may not be included in the menu. My only issue I have is that I'd wish the tamago dashi yaki was just plainly given with more dashi flavor. Although I did appreciate the brulee, I found the tamago dashi yaki a bit too sweet. Overall, highly recommended, and will come back again.

Excellent experience Omakase was delicious, and tasting menu was well thought and paced perfectly. Excellent sake list too. Service was fantastic and staff was really nice and attentive.

Amazing food! Chef definitely know how to handle the fish, prefect cut. Each nigiri sushi paired with unique sauce and great technique on pressing the rice, created special favorite! Love the service, friendly with lots of care. I believe the price is worth the quality. Need to book advance, and I will go again ...

I was invited by my friend for a last-minute Omakase and I am so glad I was able to have made it for such a wonderful dining experience at tetsu sushi bar! I was able to try a variety of sushi where it reminded me of Japan. My favourite would be the ji kimedai, uni, kuromutsu and the iwashi was unreal! To end the night, we had ichigo daifuku which was probably the best daifuku I have ever had! Satoshi san is passionate in what he does and puts in a lot of effort in curating each dishes and ensuring the quality is top notched. The plates he used to place the nigiri was hand carried all the way from Japan. The server was also amazing! The staff was attentive and made sure that me and my friend was looked after. They recently renovated and I highly recommend to book a reso if you miss Japan!
